The mission of HoopNights is to use organized “pick up” basketball to restore and create safer, more cohesive, and healthier communities throughout New Orleans. HoopNights will create a network of evening “pick up” basketball venues throughout the summer that will provide opportunities for young people to participate in physical activity while at the same time offering access to critical health and educational resources and building leadership skills.

New Orleans has always thrived in its ability to maintain a strong sense of culture and community. As the city works to rebuild, community centers and other necessary programs have been slow to return to areas of greatest need. HoopNights aims to bridge this gap.
